Now available for purchase on Steam as Early Access title, this game definitely proves that it has a solid foundation and many unique gameplay elements that make it truly different from any other title in its genre.
Atmosphere
As soon as you start exploring the world, you will notice that the game atmosphere stands out from other titles and plays a great role in enhancing gameplay experience. With fog everywhere, huge monsters, and hostile environment, it is really scary playing alone. However, seamless co-op lets you play together with your friends.
The world of Project: Mist is very hostile, yet there are some interesting things to explore. For example, abandoned buildings offer various secrets that need to be discovered by exploring them. The world atmosphere looks apocalyptic and dark everywhere, making every resource collection mission seem like a serious one.
Moving Trains and Gravity Guns
Two major mechanics introduced in this game turn it into a paragon and set it apart from its competitors:
- Moving Train Base: Unlike traditional bases which are static structures made of wood, in Project: Mist your base is a train. You are free to upgrade it and add various defensive items that allow you to protect yourself and venture further into unexplored territories of the island.
- Gravity Gun: All puzzles and combat in this game are based on physics. With a gravity gun, you are able to pick up, move, or throw away various objects in order to manipulate the environment or defeat an enemy using physics-based tricks.
