The first major update for the game is expected to arrive within weeks, bringing a highly requested fully licensed Huey helicopter.
In addition to the helicopter, two new weapons, the M14 and the Chinese Type 56 SKS, will join the arsenals of players.
The devs stated that it is just the beginning of the post-launch support, and during 2026 players will receive new weapons, vehicles, and battlefields. However, no specific dates or details about the majority of that content have been revealed yet.
Simultaneously, Expression Games claims that it will not stop working on improvements to the current game. The company states that it plans to provide regular quality-of-life patches and hotfixes, as well as optimisation and community fixes.
That becomes especially crucial after the game's launch, when developers are working hard on solving numerous technical and gameplay problems.
Along with the roadmap announcement, a new patch, Patch 1.2, has been released and includes more than 500 bug fixes and improvements, which cover stability, maps, vehicles, weapons, user interface, keybinds, and general gameplay.
The developers have fixed a problem of server crashing, caused by using Tunnel in certain situations. They also fixed several HUD issues, such as Medic markers and offensive capture-point elements appearing permanently on the screen.
Commander abilities work correctly relative to Squad Leader markings, and the knife hit registration has been improved. However, there is some work left to do on the remaining melee hit-registration problems.
The update also fixes the problem with the Longest Kill statistic. It now also counts non-headshot eliminations.
There is improvement in the image stability on consoles in darker and shadowy areas, but there is still some work left to do on optimisation.
Various keybinding problems have also been fixed, and there will be more fixes in future patches.
According to Team17 and Expression Games, they keep working on fixing player reports in the wake of Patch 1.2.
The next patch, Patch 1.3, will be released soon, probably within the next week. However, the exact time is dependent on development.
It is planned to provide weekly reports about the development of upcoming patches and fixes through the official development blog.
The current roadmap means that the immediate goal of Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is fixing launch problems and adding new features gradually.
Certainly, the introduction of the Huey will be a primary feature of the first major update. With the confirmation of additional vehicles, weapons, and battlefields in the latter part of 2026, the game development post-launch process is just starting.

Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
