All Updates of Apex Legends
Mid-season 28 split is releasing soon, and Respawn Entertainment shared some insights into what players should expect from it.

The new update brings many changes to Apex Legends, especially buffs for legends, and since they are among the most important parts of this game, we will start with them.

Gibraltar

Gibraltar is getting the huge changes, and I believe it will become the meta of Season 28 Split 2.

Passive: Gibraltar will now have a new passive that would create a speed boost if you maintain a running speed for a few seconds, but only in case weapons are holstered (if you are using a shotgun with a passive for it, no need to hide a weapon).

Tactical: Cooldown of Dome is reduced from 17 to 13 seconds, which is an incredibly low CD. You can literally spawn your doms almost right after prev has disappeared.

Blue Shield Upgrades (Tier 2): full reworked for this tier, now you can select between:

  • Thunder Dome: creating the electrified field, which stuns and hits the enemy for 50 dmg if they try to enter.
  • Healing Dome: everyone inside your dome has a double healing from small meds (patch notes specify meds, so I believe no small shield buff), and I don't think that anyone will use it.

Purple Shield Upgrades (Tier 3): a small bubble is removed, and instead you will have next options:

  • Triple Bombardment: new upgrade that will allow you to split your ultimate to 3 small ultimates (similar to Sparrow), which will have a smaller radius and amount of bombs.
  • Fast Shotties Upgrade: running with a shotgun without the debuff (previously was on the blue level shield).

Worth mentioning that Big Bruddah will now become a part of the basic Gibraltar passive, which increases the ult radius by 20%, and additionally to that, the time between missile calls and drops is reduced with no need to end all throw animation.

Wraith

Wraith is a classic legend, as well as Gibi, and unfortunately, she was out of a ship for a long time, but she will probably start to shine and be a good choice in matches since the new season split.

Ultimate and Tactical cooldown, which was part of the blue and purple shields upgrades, is now a part of the base Wraith passives.

  • Tactical: cooldown reduced from 20 to 15 seconds.
  • Ultimate: cooldown reduced from 2.5 minutes to 1.5 minutes with faster animation casting .

Blue Shield Upgrades (Tier 2): The new upgrade, "Phase Dome" will create a dome on the place where the utl cast started, and everyone within a radius will be sent to a portal. (The only problem is that change logs do not specify if players will be sent immediately on the casting moment, or after the portal is placed, most likely the first option, but we'll see).

Purple Shield Upgrades (Tier 3): The new upgrade, "Phase Jumper", will boost the tactical ability. Wraith can stay in the void longer, up to 6s, and while in the void will have a double jump, which is wild.

Wattson

Wattson is already a pretty strong character, so she is getting more like a minor upgrade compared to Wraith and Gibraltar.

Now, when you place a fence in front of the Hardlight mesh, it will reinforce the mesh. If broken, rebuild + reinforce; the fence damage is also increased from 20 to 35 dmg, and deployment time is reduced from 1s to 0.5s. The ultimate is gaining a more significant buff if you are playing in the building, cause Hardlight meshes in the radius of the ult will be automatically reinforced, and rebuild + reinforce if they break.

Aftershock Event

And back to the most boring part: the new event, "Aftershock," will change the Wildcard game mode, introduce new cosmetics, and bring Fuse's prestige skin (which is kinda cool, tbh).

In the Wildcard mode, each player will have an energy shield, which will stop bullets, allowing you to then throw them back at enemies (already was in Titanfall...) + you can unleash the EMP at enemies.

Other changes

Legend changes are the most important, so we decided to put them at the top and cover the rest below.

Audio & Engine

Enemy footsteps outside your field of view are louder, and vice versa.

Weapons

  • Hemlok: a new elite weapon that will have a full auto, and a mode that destroys Hardlight meshes.
  • 30-30: base damage buffed from 41 - 43.
  • RE-45: elit version is now a base version.
  • P2020: mag increased from 8 to 9, and fewer points are required to unlock Hammerpoints.
  • EVA-8: faster reload.
  • Prowler: reduced burst fire delay and recoil improvements.

Maps & Ranked

Next map rotation for Pubs and Ranked will include:

  • Olympus
  • Storm Point
  • World’s Edge

Elysium location on the Olympus map has been moved to a new location near the Rift in the northeast.

Quality of Life

We all love such types of updates, which make a game a little easier or more accessible, and a little more fun:

  • Vault Keys will no longer change the color of a deathbox.
  • Double jump off Octane's jump pad while healing.
